The United Brothers of America
(UBA) is a 501 (c)(3) non profit advocacy group for the advancement
of young black males through service learning, developmental
assets and enrichment training to develop them, train them and
sustain them for college, work and life. The organization charters
churches and youth service organizations that sponsor a unit
of young black male using concerted efforts with other community
organizations to create a web of support to change twenty (20)
issues in twenty (20) years. more...

“Service Learning is a teaching
and learning approach that integrates community service with
academic study to enrich learning, teaches civic responsibility,

The Forty (40) Developmental Assets
Framework include four (4) external and four (4) internal
assets categories, including Support, Empowerment, Boundaries
and Expectations, Constructive use of time, Commitment to Education,
Positive Values, Social Competencies, and Positive Identity.
The premise is the more developmental assets that young people
experience the more likely they are to make choices we value,
less likely to engage in risky behaviors and more likely bounce
